Department: T&D Construction & Maintenance

Employment Status: Fulltime

Salary: CI$5,630 – CI$7,319 per month (no income tax)

Overtime Eligibility: No

Work Environment: Hybrid

Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building

In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island

Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area

Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area

Satellite- Workspace is at one of CUC’s satellite locations

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for coordinating line crews in the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground Transmission and Distribution and circuits up to 69 kilovolt (“kV”).
  • Supervising and participating in line construction and maintenance including: planning, scheduling and checking work to ensure compliance with established policies, practices, regulations and standards, preparing time sheets, purchase orders and other related paperwork as required.
  • Ensuring all work is performed in a safe and cost effective manner and in accordance with the Company’s safety policies and regulations including Energy Control Procedures, Grounding Practices and Standard Work Methods
  • Ensuring vehicles, equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment are properly maintained and used as required
  • Perform on call duties on a rotational basis and respond to emergencies during and after regular hours.
  • Support the Company’s safety and environmental initiatives and ensure compliance with national safety and environmental regulations applicable to area of responsibility.
  • Investigate accidents and prepare reports as per CUC’s accident reporting policy.

 

Requirements:

Applicants should possess:

  • ILM Level 3 Certificate
  • Journeyman Lineman Certificate + minimum 5 years’ experience as qualified lineman
  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • Journeyman Lineman certificate with eight (8) to ten (10) years related experience in Transmission and Distribution line construction and maintenance.
